Hello Church,

I am really excited about this new installment of “The Green Room”! The song I have chosen for this round is called “Love Came Down” by Brian and Jenn Johnson. It is an amazingly poignant description of the awesome and incredible love of our lord Jesus and what it took for Him to give it. It really cost Him everything but He didn’t let that keep Him from coming for you and me. The simple fact of the matter is, if we truly stopped to take it all in, we would instantly be overwhelmed by the depth of that sacrifice and how unworthy we all are to even think about receiving such a gift. Yet that promise holds through every high and low and in between moment of our lives.

I remind myself of all that you’ve done, and the life I have because of Your Son……..Love came down and rescued me, Love came down and set me free, I am yours, I am forever yours.

Brian Johnson

In the midst of everything that we experience in life, we need to constantly remind ourselves that His love is always there, waiting to be reached out for and taken as the gift it is intended to be. Once you have encountered that kind of love, there is no turning back because you will not be the same ever again. The hunger for that connection will grow until it becomes the most desperate need of your life. In the upcoming holiday season, remember to pause in the midst of the chaos and give thanks to God for all He has made possible for us through Jesus and his incredible sacrifice.

For Him Alone,
Pastor Mike

The Aftermath

Hello Church! This month we will be learning a new song called “Aftermath”. The word aftermath is usually associated with any number of natural and man-made disasters. It usually brings visions of destruction and mayhem, of great loss or abandonment, and in many cases, death. This month, we’re going to change our view of the word “Aftermath”. As Christians, I don’t think we give enough thought to what Jesus actually did for us in the moment of His death. He changed the world forever for those who would be His and would be willing identify with Him and what He had done.

His death was horribly painful and violent. It was undeserving in every way, but yet, it happened. And in the wake of that incredible sacrifice, the bonds of death and hell were forever broken. As a result, we now live in the aftermath of what Christ did for us and the kingdom of hell is rubble. We will forever walk in the light of the Aftermath because of what Jesus Christ did for us that day.

Pastor Mike

And in that moment of glorious surrender,
You were broken for all the world to see,
Lifted out of the ashes, I am found in the Aftermath
And in that moment of glorious surrender,
Was the moment you broke the chains in me
Lifted out of the ashes I am found in the Aftermath
