Women’s Morning Study- Crazy Love Week 9

This week in study we discussed the final chapter in the book, chapter 10.  Chapter 10 concluded with the question of how we would respond to what we have read and discussed these past nine weeks.  Again we discussed the lives of those we see make a difference and we were asked to examine our walk and how we will continue to walk.  The question was posed “what will we be doing when Christ comes back?”  The ladies in our study discussed what we could do to live “pointing toward God” or to glorify God both as individuals and corporately.  Some of the ladies are already using their gifts to bless others inside and apart from the church.  Something we plan to do together is to have a Tea and invite other women to share with them and encourage them and each other.  Keep your eyes open for this event planned for sometime in August.

Until then, keep pointing up!

Women’s Morning Study- Crazy Love Week 8

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.__1 Corinthians 11:1

This week in our study group we discussed the stories we read about in chapter nine.  Chapter nine gave account of the lives of many who chose to follow the example of Christ.  These faithful followers lived their lives completely surrendered in action.  The point of the chapter was meant to more than just encourage us, but to inspire us to move to action in our lives.  Many of us are looking for ways to minister and are waiting on some kind of personal “revelation” from God.  For some, the missions field may be God’s will, for others, we need to offer our gifts no matter how insignificant it may seem to us.  In study group this week, the women discussed ways we could contribute in our homes, families, church, and community to glorify God.  This week we are encouraged to pray and step out in faith in His service.

Let’s go do it!

Women’s Morning Study- Crazy Love Week 7

This week we discussed chapter 8 of Crazy Love at study, it was titled “Profile of the Obsessed”.  As Francis points out, “the Bible teaches us to be consumed with Christ and to faithfully live out his words”.  When our minds are fixed on (obsessed with) Jesus and focused on the life to come, we experience joy and peace.

Here are a few of the points from the book that we are to think about and we discussed in our group;

“People who are obsessed with Jesus”

  • give freely and openly without censure
  • aren’t consumed with their personal safety and comfort above all else
  • live lives that connect them with the poor somehow
  • are more concerned with obeying God than doing what is expected or fulfilling the status quo
  • know that the sin of pride is always a battle
  • do not consider service a burden
  • are known as givers not takers
  • This is the mindset that we should strive for, a committed, mature love for God and others, while remaining humble.

    God bless you this week,

    Sylvia
