Mission Statement
We believe that Calvary Hills Christian Church has been called into existence for God’s glory. Our mission is to glorify God by being and making disciples of Jesus Christ who display and proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ to Menifee, the surrounding communities and beyond. In other words, we want to help people come to know Jesus Christ and to live for Him. In turn they will help others come to know Him and live for Him. We believe that authentic personal life change lends necessary credibility to our proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative word of God. We believe in one God eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father and in his personal return in power and glory. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those whom are saved unto the resurrection of life and those whom are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
Goals
To create a smaller, vintage church environment. Teaching the Word of God, discipling believers to mature in their relationship with God. Helping them to discover their God given gifts. Then to encourage and assist them in expressing those gifts.
Church History
On August 25, 2003, a group of believers met at the home of Pastor Jeff Johnson for prayer and worship. On their hearts was the question, Where do we go from here? God answered that question for them and two weeks later, Calvary Hills Christian Church held its first service in the home of Dave and Luann Loop. A short time later, the church moved to Menifee Middle School and held services there for over a year. Since that time, God’s hand has continued to guide Calvary Hills as it has struggled with writing by-laws, applying for non-profit status and all the other things that come with being a church. Through it all, God called Calvary Hills to foster relationships among believers that are based on biblical principals and to help believers grow into mature Christian believers.
Recently, Calvary Hills has taken its biggest leap of faith ever. In September of 2004, the Board of Elders okayed a plan to enter into a long term lease on a new property. Construction was started shortly after building plans were approved and Calvary Hills began the process of transforming an industrial building into a house of God. In May of 2005, the dream finally became a reality and Calvary hills said goodbye to Menifee Middle School forever. This new building, once a place used to make windows, has become more than a sanctuary, it’s a place the Calvary Hills family now calls home.
The body at Calvary Hills is now focused on the mission God has given them; equip believers to exercise their spiritual gifts within the body of Christ, to help believers correctly apply the principals found in God’s word to their life, and strengthen the bonds of friendship formed with other believers in fellowship. We believe that the fullness of God’s grace, power and joy can only happen when these three essential elements come together in a believer life. We believe that they come together at Calvary Hills.
Are you tired of just sitting around? Are searching for the power and purpose that God has for your life? Calvary Hills has been called to equip believers to serve and to grow. Isn’t time that you became the Christian that God wants you to be? If you are ready to take the next step in your Christian adventure, come meet our family and let us help you take the next step in the incredible journey God has planned for you.
